Supported system setup
Your system can include:
Up to four Powerwall 2 units
One Powerwall 3 unit as the system leader
Up to three Powerwall 3 Expansion units
This gives eligible homes a flexible path to larger battery storage and backup power.
Important considerations to keep your system safe and compliant
- System upgrades must be completed by a Tesla Certified Installer, like Omzen Electric + Solar.
- Your system cannot use Gateway 1 or a Neurio Meter in this combined configuration.
- For homes with a three-phase grid connection, Powerwall 3 battery output is limited to 5kW in a combined system.
- New Powerwall 3 hardware must have active Clean Energy Council (CEC) listing compliance
- An expired CEC listing on an existing Powerwall 2 does not prevent you from adding Powerwall 3.

Any new Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion units come with their own separate 10-year warranty.
